Anthony C. Cucinotta

Anthony “Tony” C. Cucinotta, 79, of 134 Main St., Mt. Morris died suddenly Dec. 23, 2002 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. He was born the son of Michael and Josephine (Scortino) Cucinotta on July 11, 1923 in Mt. Morris. He was a life resident of Mt. Morris where he owned and operated Cucinotta's Body Shop for over 50 years. He retired as a welder from Craig Developmental Center in Sonyea in 1983 where he was employed for 20 years. He was a World War II veteran of the Navy. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, the Mt. Morris American Legion Post 354, Mt. Morris VFW Post 547 and the Active Hose Company of the Mt. Morris Fire Department. He is survived by his wife Rita, daughter Kathleen (Thomas) Fraser of Mt. Morris. three stepchildren, Theresa (Charles) Bancroft of Dansville, Claudia Bouffard of Mt. Morris and Edmund (Judy) Bouffard III of Canaseraga; 11 grandchildren, Ryan, Jonathan and Katlin Fraser of Mt. Morris, Jennie and Jeffrey Szczesniak of Conesus, Kristie, Patrick and Elizabeth Bancroft of Dansville and Chelsea, Aleah and Andrea Bouffard of Canaseraga; one great grandson Jordan Szczesniak of Conesus; four brothers, Joseph and Francis “Willie” (Serena), both of Mt. Morris, Frank of Leicester and John of Dansville; one sister Dolores (Sam) DioGuardi of Mt. Morris; many nieces and nephews and many dear friends including Brian Michael Penly of Mt. Morris. He was predeceased by his first wife Alice in 1977, two brothers Peter and Michael and two sisters Kay and Rose. Friends may call Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 at the John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel St. (Route 408), Mt. Morris where prayers will be said Friday at 9 am followed by a funeral mass at St. Patrick's Church at 9:30 am. The Reverend Michael Brown officiating. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Morris Ambulance, American Cancer Society or St. Patrick's Home & Heart Project. A Fireman's service will be held Thursday. At 6:50 pm followed by an American Legion Service at 7 p.m.

Mary Disparti

Mary Disparti, 92, a life long resident of Geneseo, died December 19, 2002. She was born April 18, 1910 in Geneseo. She attended schools in Geneseo, graduating from Geneseo High School in 1928 and then attending what was then called the Geneseo State Normal from 1928-1931. She then returned to the State University of New York for her Bachelor's degree. Her first teaching post was in Varysburg, N.y. in a two-room schoolhouse and then she taught in a similar school in Johnsonburg, N.Y. for two years. She continued her teaching at Belmont Central School until her retirement in 1972. After her retirement she was one of the founders of the Geneseo Young at Heart, serving in several capacities in that organization over the years. Many years after that the Young at Heart chose her as Geneseo's Citizen of the Year. She was an active member of St. Mary's parish in Geneseo as organist and singer. In addition to her love of music, she was an ardent gardener and flower arranger. She is survived by nephews, Nicholas Disparti of Escondido, Calif, Carol Disparti of Lake Geneva, WI, Dr. Richard Nasca of Wilmington, N.C., Edward Nasca of Naperville, Ill. and a niece Geraldine Seeber of Richmond, Va. Friends may call Sunday Dec. 29, 2002 from 1-5 p.m. at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, Dec. 30, 2002 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Geneseo with Father Daniel McMullin officiating. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, Geneseo. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd., Geneseo NY 14454.

Elizabeth M. Hassman

Elizabeth M. Hassman, 83, died Dec. 22, 2002 at the Teresa House in Geneseo. Mrs. Hassman resided on Oak St. in Geneseo prior to her entry into the hospice. She is survived by her husband Phillip; two daughters, Mary E. Hassman of Colombia, MD, Jo Anne Buchanan of Seattle, WA; two grandchildren, Daniel Buchanan of Providence, RI, Katrina Buchanan of Portland, OR; great grandchildren, Hope and Xavier; sister Anne Overton of Panama City, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. She was born April 16, 1919 in Albia, Iowa the daughter of John and Anna (Sirotnak) Underation. She was an active member of St. Mary's Church having been a member of their Seton Group. She was a member of the Geneseo Garden Club and the Rochester Retired Military Officers Auxiliary. No prior calling hours. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, Dec. 27, 2002 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Geneseo with Father William Gordinier officiating. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Memorials may be made to Livingston County Hospice, Livingston County Campus Bldg. #2, Mt. Morris NY 14510 or Teresa House, 21 Highland Rd., Geneseo NY 14454.

Richard F. Paul

Richard F. Paul, 77, of Durkee Road, Conesus, died Dec. 20, 2002 at his home with his family by his side. He was born the son of Harold and Lena Beach Paul on March 16, 1925 in Richmond, N.Y. He was employed at the Town of Conesus Highway Department. He was a member of the Conesus United Church and he was also a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Conlon Mulvaney American Legion and was an honorary member of the Conesus Fire Department. He is survived by his wife Betty; his children, Catherine Paul, Richard (Darla) Paul, Randy (Terri) Paul, Julie (Scott) Backus; six grandchildren and one great grandchild; brothers, James (Sue) Paul, Lloyd (Hilda) Paul, Raymond Paul, Steven (Nancy) Paul; sisters, Alice (Jerry) Hill, Shirley Levesque, Betty Krebbeks, June Vianese, Millie (William) Fisher; several nieces and nephews. Friends called Sunday at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., Route 15 in Livonia. His Funeral service was held Monday at the Conesus United Church in Conesus with the Rev. David Hotchkiss officiating. Burial, Arnold Cemetery in Conesus. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Livonia Ambulance Fund, Conesus Fire Department, Conlon Mulvaney American Legion or the Livingston County Hospice Fund.

Eva E. Price

Eva E. Price (Rooney), 92, died on Dec. 15, 2002 at Highland Hospital in Rochester. She was born on March 8, 1910 in Belfast, N.Y. the daughter of Frank B. Rooney and Lillian (Siverd) Rooney. She was an avid artist and was a member of the Wheatland Artist Club. She was predeceased by her husband G. Laurance Price, brothers, Albert and Herbert, sisters, Esther and Eleanor. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Robert McNinch of Avon; granddaughter Catherine (David) Rathbun; two great granddaughters, Amber (Nazareth) Rodriquez and Holly Rathbun; nieces and nephews; special niece Jane Petrie; special friends, Doris and Tod Gillard. Calling hours and Funeral Services were held at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. in Avon with the Rev. Michael Maloney and Rev. Robert Wheeler officiating. Interment, Avon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lima Baptist Church, 1575 Rochester St., Lima NY 14485 or Lima Christian School, 1575 Christian School, Lima NY 14485 in her memory.
