Anthony S. Gerace

World War II veteran

Anthony S. Gerace, 90, of 13 Murray St., Mt. Morris, died Dec. 2, 2004 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. He was born on July 13, 1914 in Mt. Morris, the son of Gasper and Marie (Cipolla) Gerace. He was a life long resident of Mt. Morris. He owned and operated Gerace Coal & Lumber in Mt. Morris until his retirement in 1976. He was a veteran of the Navy Seabees during World War II serving in Normandy on D-Day and Samara in the Pacific Islands. He was a member of St. Patrickıs Church where he was a Deacon & Assisting clergy. He was an officer for the Hemlock Fair, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Mt. Morris fireman, Past President of the Mt. Morris Kiwanis Club, former Town of Mt. Morris councilman, a Board member of the former Security Trust office in Mt. Morris, member of the Western NY Horsemenıs Association and Horse Pullers Association. He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Falsone) Gerace; two daughters, Marie (Del) Lown of Alabama and Joyce Galvin of Mt. Morris; five grandchildren, Lora Barham, Jennifer Cunningham, Sheryl Turner, Aaron Galvin and Lynn Marquart; five great grandchildren, Mathew and Michael McDonald, Benjamin Turner, Nicholas and Ty Cunningham; one sister Antionette ³Lee² Coniglio of Orchard Park; one brother Paul (Mildred) Gerace of Fairfield, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Peewee. Friends called Friday at the John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel St. (Route 408), Mt. Morris where prayers were said Saturday followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Patrickıs Church. Interment, St. Patrickıs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Morris Ambulance Fund, PO Box 286, Mt. Robert J. Klein

World War II veteran

Henrietta - Robert J. Klein, 81, of 4455 W. Henrietta Road, the Woodcrest Commons, died Dec. 4, 2004 with his family at his side. He was born the son of Phillip and Rose Zelt Klein on June 2, 1923 in Buffalo. He was a World War II Army veteran, a retiree of Stromberg-Carlson of Rochester where he was a Sales Engineer. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy on March 21, 1996. He is survived by his daughter, Jody (Kevin) Pastore of Webster, Peggy (John) Lund of Livonia; grandchildren, Tera (Nathan) Benitez, Shannon Lund, Jamie Peckman, Robert Peckman; great grandchildren, Joey Ryanne, Alex and Connor. He is also survived by ³Bobbyıs Angels² and the loving and caring people at Woodcrest Commons in Henrietta. No prior calling. Friends may attend his memorial service Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., Route 15, Livonia. Betty I. Metz

Springwater resident

Betty J. Metz, 74, of Main Street in Springwater, died Dec. 2, 2004 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born the daughter of Howard and Pheemey Ball Rader on Sept. 15, 1932 in Naples, N.Y. She was a member of the Hemlock Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband Leale and her son Roger. She is survived by her children, Danny (Kathy) Metz of Hemlock, Jerry (Karen) Metz of Springwater, Scott (Patty) Metz of Lima; grandchildren, Marla Johnson, Shawn Buchanan, Amy (Bryan) Graves, Melissa Metz, Danielle Metz, Ryan Metz; four great grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Nancy) Rader of Clifton Springs, Donald (Joy) Rader of Tennessee; sister, Jen (Martin) McGrady of Hemlock; several nieces and nephews. Friends called Sunday at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., Route 15, Livonia. Her Funeral Service was held Monday at the Hemlock Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Predmore officiating. Patrick D. Raynard

U.S. Marine Corps veteran

Avon-Chili - Patrick D. Raynard, 71, died on Nov. 23, 2004 at Parkridge Hospital in Rochester. He was born on July 2, 1933 in Syracuse, the son of John and Katherine Raynard. He was a retired office manager at Stroemann Baking Company. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Korean veteran, a member of the Henrietta VFW Post #5465 and past Commander in 1998. He was also a member of the Cooper Marine American Legion Post #603, Marine Corps League and the Henrietta Moose Club. He is survived by his wife Maxine Raynard of Chili; four children, Colleen M. (James) Stafford of Fairport, Patrick ³PJ² (Christine) Raynard of New Hartford, N.Y., Timothy D. (Andrea) Raynard of Avon, Michael J. Raynard of Phoenix, Ariz.; and eight grandchildren, Caitlin and Grant Stafford of Fairport, Adam, Lexie and Olivia Raynard of New Hartford, Danielle, Madison and Emily Raynard of Avon. Calling hours were held Nov. 26 at the Stephenson - Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. in Avon. His Funeral Mass was held Nov. 27 at St. Agnes Church in Avon. Interment, Pine Hill Cemetery in Rush. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program, 247 Paul Road, Rochester NY 14624 in his memory.

Elfriede Ranft

CAS retiree

Elfriede Ranft, 87, retired from Campus Auxiliary Services at State University of New York at Geneseo, died, Dec. 3, 2004 at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo. Mrs. Ranft resided on Groveland Hill Road in Groveland prior to her entry into the nursing home. She is survived by one son Ernie (Maureen Ranft of Savannah, Ga.; one daughter Christine Carr of Groveland; three grandchildren, Jenniffer Ranft, Errol Ted (Stephanie) Ranft, Eric (Jill) Ranft; three great grandchildren, Allison Ranft, Casey Jane Ranft and Duncan Ranft; four step grandchildren, Terri Lynn (Jerry) Cavigliano, Scott Carr, Tom Carr, and Heather Carr; four step great grandchildren, Michelle, Tara and Jenna Cavigliano, Jackson Carr; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ludwig. She was born Feb. 17, 1917 in Munich, Germany, the daughter of Conrad and Katherine Reichel Engel. Visitation was held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Tuesday. Funeral Mass was held Dec. 7 at St. Maryıs Church in Geneseo with Father Daniel McMullin officiating. Burial, St. Maryıs Cemetery in Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the Livingston County Hospice, Livingston County Campus, Bldg. #2, Mt. Morris NY 14510.
