Hannelore Brewster

Dansville resident

Hannelore Brewster, 60, of 23 Knox St., passed away Oct. 12, 2005 at the Hospice Care Center of Nicholas H. Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Hannelore was born in Schwabisch Hall, Germany of Feb. 20, 1945 the daughter of Johannes and Anna (Gamm) Kraft. She resided the early years of her life in Germany and graduated from high school there. Subsequent to high school, Hannelore met Leland Brewster in Germany while he was there in the service. On Sept. 21, 1962 they entered into marriage and together Hannelore and Leland have celebrated over 43 years of marriage. They have resided in many different areas including Germany until 1963; Waynesboro, Pa. for a couple of years; Hornell for a few years, and in 1975 they moved to Dansville where they have remained. Hannelore enjoyed knitting and crocheting and she loved to attend the annual Octoberfest and many other German festivals in the local area. She also enjoyed camping. However, it was being with Leland, raising her three children and spending time with her two grandchildren that she enjoyed the most. She loved the family gatherings for birthdays and holidays and as Hannelore's children stated she “just really liked to celebrate life.” Hannelore will truly be missed by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband Leland Brewster of Dansville; her children, Diane Snyder and her husband Gary Jr. of Wayland, William Brewster of Dansville and Tammy Henry and her husband George of Dansville; her grandchildren, Rachael and Todd Snyder of Wayland; her brother Johannes Kraft of El Paso, Texas; her cousin Roswita Bonner and her niece Renate Garcia; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins in Germany. Family and friends called Friday at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 W. Naples St., Wayland. Her celebration of life was held Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Swart of Springwater Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment and committal prayers followed immediately at Greenmount Cemetery in Dansville. Alfred E. Eberly

World War II veteran

Alfred E. Eberly, 88, a retired printer for the Livingston Republican in Geneseo, died Oct. 15, 2005 at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo. Mr. Eberly resided in Pavilion with Robert and Marian Taylor prior to his entry into the nursing home. He is survived by two brothers-in-law, Donald (Amie) DeLaVergne of Leicester, Richard (Margaret) DeLaVergne of Princeton, W.Va.; sister-in-law Vivian (Harold) Blanke of Pavilion; many nieces, nephews and dear friends including Robert Hall and Carol Carey, both of Geneseo. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Eberly. He was born April 21, 1917 in Dowagiak, Mich. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology having earned a Bachelor's Degree. He was a member of the Geneseo United Methodist Church were he volunteered as a vocalist. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Geneseo with Rev. Douglas Wilson officiating. Burial, Mt. Ash Cemetery in Covington. Memorials may be made the Geneseo United Methodist Church, 4520 Route 63, Geneseo NY 14454 or to Livingston County Hospice, Livingston County Campus Bldg. #2, Mt. Morris NY 14510.

Martha L. Goodberlet

Avon - Martha L. Goodberlet, 92, died on Oct. 13, 2005 at the Avon Nursing Home in Avon. Mrs. Goodberlet was born on Oct. 3, 1913 in Rush the daughter of Jacob and Louise Gutschow. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Goodberlet and son Robert Goodberlet. Mrs. Goodberlet worked as a cafeteria worker at the Avon Central School. She loved quilting and gardening. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Robert Wright; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. Calling hours were held Oct. 16 at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. in Avon where her Funeral Service was held Oct. 17 with Rev. Larry Berman officiating. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery in Henrietta. Memorials may be made to the Avon Rotary-Lions Ambulance or the Avon Food Pantry.

Denise K. Speicher

Denise K. “Dee” Speicher, 46, of Sandbury Dr. in Pittsford, N.Y., died Oct. 14, 2005 at Highland Hospital in Rochester She is survived by her husband Ronald P. Speicher of Pittsford; mother Mary Lou Van Ness of Zephyrhills, Fla.; sister Michele (Donald) Bowman of Zephyrhills; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father William Van Ness. She was born Sept. 8, 1959 in Elmira, N.Y. the daughter of William and Mary Lou Lougher Van Ness. She graduated from Horseheads High School and earned her Associates Degree from Alfred State College. Dee has been a resident of the Rochester area for 30 years. She has been employed by Windheim Tool Company of Rochester for over 25 years. She served as a patient advisory representative for the End Stage Renal Disease Network of New York. She enjoyed her work at the Wegmans LPGA Golf Tournament as a Rotary Volunteer. Dee certainly loved life and despite her chronic health concerns she was admired for her positive attitude, fighting spirit and concern for those around her. She surrounded herself with reminders of her love for family, friends and fun activities. Dee will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. As we remember her loving spirit, we are reminded to always love, smile, be happy and enjoy life. Visitation was held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Monday. Funeral Mass was held Oct. 18 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Geneseo with Father Patrick Connor officiating. Interment, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 15 Prince St., Rochester NY 14607.

Patricia J. Wolfe

York resident

Patricia J. Wolfe, 74, of Chestnut St. in York, who enjoyed spending time with her family, died Oct. 11, 2005 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw, N.Y. Mrs. Wolfe was retired from Electro Chloride Networks in Caledonia. She is survived by her husband Raymond; two daughters, Christine (Edward) Fitzpatrick of Wadsworth, Pamela (Tracy) Peglowski of York; four grandchildren, Raylene (Edward) Langenfeld, Tiffany (Ken) Bird, Trisha (Brian) Pangrazio and Trevor Peglowski; great grandchildren, Riley Langenfeld and KJ Bird; sisters, Dorothy (Fred) Hackett, Betty Boyd, Mary (Bill) Carson, Agnes Hehnly, Margaret (Hank) Gregg; many nieces and nephews. She was born March 7, 1931 in York, the daughter of David and Mabel Dale Rossborough. No prior calling hours. Funeral Services were held Oct. 14 at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo with Rev. Neil Frood of York United Presbyterian Church officiating.
