Eva Burson

Eva (Robertson) Burson, age 91, of Largo, FL., formerly of Gates, NY died September 25, 2000 in Largo. She was born February 26, 1909 i Rochester, NY to Henry J. and Mae (Kime) Robertson. Eva was a past member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of Gates-Chili Fire Department and a member of the Ridgemont Country Club. She was also a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Mumford, NY. Predeceased by her husband, Roland and daughter, Marilyn. She is survived by daughter, Joan Harris, Largo,FL., sisters Marion Friend, Freyburg, MF., and Dorothy Pullyblank, Mumford; grandchildren, James and Teresa Harris, Nancy (Harris) Gomez, Barbara (Harris) and Aaron Nagel, Jody (Harris) and Mark Brown, Emily Grubisich, Miranda (Grubisich) Best, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends were invited to calling hours Friday, September 29, 2000, 11:00 am - 3 pm at the Alhart Funeral Home, Caledonia. Eva's funeral service was held immediately following calling at the First United Presbyterian Church, Mumford. Officiating the service was Rev. Encie Stevens. Interment was held at Mumford Rural Cemetery, Mumford,NY. Memorials may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church's Roofing Fund, 893 George Street, Mumford, NY 14511.

Margaret M. Crick

Margaret M. Crick, age 88, of Caledonia died September 29, 2000 at her daughter's home in Churchville, NY after a short illness. She was retired from Allen Bailey Tag, Caledonia. Margaret was also a member of St. Columba Church's Rosary Society, and the Caledonia Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary. Predeceased by her husband, Harry. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane Leibeck, Churchville; grandchildren, Sharlene (David) Reeves, Kathy (Bill)Chase, Darlene (Bill) Hinchey, James Leibeck, Stephen Leibeck and his fiancee, Amy Rath; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, James Gallo, Nicholas (Mildred) Gallo; several nieces and nephews. Friends called Sunday, October 1, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main St, Caledonia. Her Funeral Mass was held , Monday, October 2, 2000 at 11:00 am at St. Columba Church, Caledonia. Officiating the mass was Rev. Walter Plominski. Interment was held at St. Columba Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Caledonia Ambulance, P.O. Box 1, Caledonia, 14423.

Rachel L. Flint

Rachel L. Flint, 87, a resident of the Livingston County Campus Skilled Nursing Facility in Mt. Morris died Monday, October 02, 2000 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Mrs. Flint was formerly of I Borst Lane in Caledonia. She is survived by her children Russell Flint of Olean, NY, Dorothy DuBois of Ontario, NY, Warren Flint of East Avon, NY, Connie (Ed) Hoffmeier of Rochester, Joseph (Vicky) Flint of FL, Tom (Maxine) Flint of Caledonia, NY, 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 sister Oletha Williams of Watkins Glen, NY, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Atwood Flint and 2 grandchildren. She was born March 03, 1913 in Canisteo, NY the daughter of Charles and Nora (Young) Davenport. Visitation will be held at Rector Hicks Funeral Home Inc on Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 PM Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 5, 2000 at 11:00 AM at Rector Hicks Funeral Home Inc. 111 Main St. in Geneseo, Rev. Neil Frood of York United Presbyterian Church will be officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York.

Gertrude M. Meyers

Gertrude M. Meyers age 85 of Lima, died peacefully at her home Saturday September 30, 2000. She was born in Webster, NY the daughter of William and Frances (Mooney) Cottreall. Prior to retirement Gertrude was employed at Brighton Public Schools on the cafeteria staff. Gertrude is survived by her husband of sixty years, Earl B. Meyers, two daughters Carol (Elmer) Miller and Linda (Larry) Mitchell; five granddaughters Lori (John) Wing, Lisa (Kent) Porter, Lynn Young, Kim Miller, Carey (Jon) Christjansen; four great grandchildren; two nephews William and Russell Cottrell. Family and friends called on Wednesday, October 4 at the family home. Funeral Service with interment at White Haven Memorial Park was private. Memorials may be made to the Lima Ambulance Fund, P.O. David M. Recktenwald

David M. Recktenwald age 39 of Ionia, NY died on Saturday September 30, 2000 at Benincasa in Mendon after a long illness. He was born October 31, 1960 in Rochester, the son of George W. and Leona (Baird) Recktenwald. David was employed as a mechanic by the New York State Thruway Authority in Henrietta for the last fifteen years. He is survived by his parents of Ionia, three brothers Eric (Gayla) Recktenwald of Marble Falls, TX, Marc (Laurie) Recktenwald of Arvada, CO and John Recktenwald of Ionia; a niece Krista LeAnn Recktenwald and nephew Dalton Paul Recktenwald; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends called on Wednesday at the O'Connell-Drowne Funeral Home in Lima. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday Oct. 5, 2000 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Mendon. Rev. James Lawlor officiating. Interment, Millers Corner Cemetery, Ionia. Memorials may be made to Benincassa, 3880 Rush-Mendon Rd. Marion S. Reed

Marion S. Reed, age 85, died September 27, 2000 at Highland Hospital, Rochester after a short illness. She was born May 8, 1915 in Caledonia to William D. and Lottie (Sisson) Stirling. Marion graduated from the Geneseo Normal School in 1935. She taught in Caledonia and retired in 1973. Marion was a member of the Caledonia Library Board, and the Caledonia Cooperative. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Caledonia, and was a part treasurer and served on the nursery school board. Predeceased by her husband, John in 1997 and her sister, Kathryn in 1996. Marion is survived by her brother William A. Stirling, Sodus, sister-in-law, Margaret Reed, Caledonia, brother-in-law, Raymond MacIntyre, York; nieces, Maureen (Casey) Randall, Joyce (David Eichenberger) Fisher, Bette Rae MacIntyre, Christine Stirling, Cynthia (Ronald) Struckle, Elizabeth (Joseph) Suarez; nephews, Lawrence (Judy)Reed, David (Lee) Reed, David (Elsie) MacIntyre, John (Dee) MacIntyre; 20 grand nieces and nephews, 1 great grandniece; 2 great grand-nephews. No prior calling. Friends were invited to attend her Memorial Service, Friday, September 29, 2000, 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 3080 West Main Street, Caledonia. Officiating the service was Rev. Nancy Reinert. Interment was held Saturday, September 30, at 10:00 am at Mumford Rural Cemetery, Mumford, NY. Daniel Shanahan
World War II Army veteran

Daniel Shanahan, 83, of 54 Captain Walsh Road, South Dennis, Mass., formerly of Sonyea, died Sept. 28, 2000, at Cape Code Hospital in Cape Cod, Mass. He was born the son of Dr. William T. and Bridget (Fox) Shanahan on Jan. 16, 1917 in Sonyea. He graduated from Fordham University and Fordham Law School in New York City. Prior to his retirement in 1980 he was employed as a lawyer for the Defense Department in Washington, D.C. for over 20 years. He was a veteran of the Army during World War II. He is survived by his sister Gertrude Shanahan of South Dennis, Mass.; two nieces and two nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. William T. and Bridget Shanahan; two brothers, Father James J. and William Shanahan, four sisters, Margaret Jenkins, Catherine, Ann and Mary Shanahan. No prior calling. Prayers were said Tuesday at the John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel St., Mt. Morris, followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church. Interment, St. Patrick's Cemetery, Mt. Morris. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Church Memorial Fund, Stanley St., Mt. Morris NY 14510.

Antoinette P. “Tani” Siraguse

Antoinette P. “Tani” Siraguse, age 85 of 7 Case Street, Mount Morris died suddenly Saturday September 30, 2000 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She was born the daughter of Anthony and Nicolina (Coniglio) Liberti on January 10, 1915 in Avon, New York. Prior to her retirement in 1974 she was employed as an occupational Therapist at Craig Developmental Center in Sonyea for over 32 years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Rosary Society and CSEA. She is survived by her 4 daughters Marguerite (Dennis Cole) Zambito of Mount Morris, Ann Donaldson of Sarasota, Fl., Mary Ellen Aldrich of Mount Morris and Monica Bauer of Lancaster. 1 son Russell C. (Frances) Siraguse Jr. of Mendon. 10 grandchildren Stephen, Michael, and Matthew Siraguse, JoAnn and Jeffrey Zambito, Terri Ann Romano, Lyndsey, and Michael Donaldson, Danya and Adam Bauer. 2 Great Grandchildren Meghan and Timothy Zambito. 3 Sisters Josephine Coniglio, Sarah LaGeorge both of Mount Morris and Ann Warmington of Fl. Many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Russell Sr. in 1998. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 7-9 at the John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel Street Mount Morris where prayers will be said Tuesday at 11:30 am followed by a funeral mass at 12 pm at St. Patrick's Church. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Church Memorial Fund, Mount Morris Ambulance Fund or the American Cancer Society.

Katherine I. Taylor

Katherine I. Taylor, 69, died Sunday, October 1, 2000 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Mrs. Taylor lived at 2346 Federal Rd. in Linwood. She is survived by her daughter Tammy (Chris) Ochsenhirt of Conesus, NY, her father Ellsworth Kiefer of Linwood, NY sister Bertha (George) Marks of York, nieces and nephews including Pam Dartt, Kim Bluto, Jodie Kiefer, Lisa Ashefaft, Connie Cannon, George Marks and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas A. Taylor in March of 1984, and her mother, Mary Kiefer in December of 1995. She was born April 28, 1931 in Dansville, NY the daughter of Ellsworth and Mary (McCann) Kiefer. Visitation will be held at the Rector Hicks Funeral Home Inc. 111 Main St. i Geneseo on Wednesday from 9-11 AM. Memorials may be made to the family. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2000 at 11:00 AM at the Rector Hicks Funeral Home in Geneseo. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York.

Ruth Howitt Quincey

Ruth Howitt Quincey age 97 of Big Tree Street, Livonia died Friday September 29, 2000 peacefully at the Teresa House in Geneseo surrounded by many dear friends. She was born the daughter of Fred and Mae Wyse Howitt on July 5, 1903 in Conesus, NY. She was a member of the United Church of Livonia and the Livonia Area Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her husband Charles W. Quincey. She is survived by many dear relatives and friends. Friends may call Monday 10-11 am at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. Route 15, Livonia where funeral services will follow calling at 11 am with the Rev. Timothy Hazlett officiating. Burial Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Geneseo.
