Ruby W. Hatch

Teacher

Ruby W. Hatch, 91, died Sept. 21, 2004 at her home in Avon. Mrs. Hatch was born on Dec. 17, 1912 in Avon the daughter of William A. and Edith L. Wade. A graduate of the Geneseo Normal School, she became an Elementary School teacher first working Warsaw, NY, where she met her husband Mrele. They later moved to Avon where she worked as a first grade teacher at the Avon Elementary School until her retirement. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Merle W. Hatch of Avon; son Douglas (Nancy) Hatch of Cortland, NY; daughter Barbara (Gary) Grant of Marietta, Ga., seven grandchildren, Shanti (Frank) Blatnik of Eastlake, Ohio, Kamala (Jay) Johnson of Snellville, Ga., Gordon Grant and fiancee Kelly of Atlanta, Ga., Linde (Matthew) Farrero of Woodstock, Ga., Brenda (Rex) Bowman of Antioch, Tenn.; nine great grandchildren; very special friend Dr. Mishra of Indianapolis, Ind.; a nephew Robert Bunker of Denver, Colo. Calling hours were held Sept. 24 at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 350 Genesee Street in Avon where her Funeral Service was held Sept. 25 with Rev. Dr. Thomas Talor officiating. Interment, East Avon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Teresa House, 21 Highland Road, Geneseo NY 14454 in her memory.
