Joseph C. Aprile

Joseph C. Aprile Jr., 45, of 14 Center Street in Geneseo, died suddenly on Thursday, September 20, 2001 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. He is survived by his mother, Takoka Aprile of Geneseo, sister Judy (Ronald) Aprile of Santa Anna, Ca., grandmother Josephine Aprile of Geneseo, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph C. Aprile Sr. on January 9, 1994. He was born December 09, 1955 in Warsaw, NY the son of Joseph and Takoka (Handa) Aprile Sr. He was a 1975 graduate of Geneseo Central School and a member of St. Mary's Church in Geneseo. Visitation was held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home in Geneseo on Monday. Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, at St. Mary's Church in Geneseo with Father Daniel McMullin officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo.

Sadie E. Ashe

Sadie E. Ashe, 94, of Scottsville, died Sept. 16, 2001 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born April 16, 1907. She was born April 16, 1907 in Washington D.C. to George and Lavania (Johnson) Hinds. Sadie was a homemaker and a member of the Second Baptist Church in Mumford. She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Thornton of Caledonia, Ruth Lucas of Scottsville, Rosemary Lucas of Caledonia, and Joyce Barnes of Scottsville; son William (Gerri) Carpenter of Florida; son-in-law Walter Williams of Leroy; daughter-in-law Marjorie Carpenter of Caledonia; 18 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Catherine Williams and sons, David and Donald Carpenter. Friends called Wednesday at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 W. Main St. in Caledonia. Her Funeral Service was held Thursday at the Second Baptist Church, George St. in Mumford. Interment was held at Mumford Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Genesee Valley Advanced Medical Unit, P.O. Box 3, Caledonia NY 14423.

Eunice H. Collins

Eunice H. Collins, 81, of Avon, died Sept. 22, 2001 at the Westgate Nursing Home in Chili, N.Y. Mrs. Collins was born Aug. 29, 1920 in Rochester, the daughter of Dallas Howe and Theresa (Lynk) Howe. She is survived by her husband Thomas J. Collins of Avon; three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas D. (Jean) Collins of Honeoye, Lawrence R. (Judy) Collins, Daniel B. Collins, both of Rochester; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours and Funeral Services were held at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. in Avon with Mrs. Barbara Swiecki officiating. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory. Interment, St. Agnes Cemetery in Avon.

Mary Anne Everhart

Mary Anne Everhart of Caledonia, age 66, died September 19, 2001 at the Teresa House, in Geneseo after a long battle with cancer. She was born February 9, 1935 in Rochester to Jennifer and William Seadeck. Mary Anne was a homemaker, a member of St. Peter's Church, LeRoy, and a former employee of Tom Wahl's Restaurant in Avon. She is survived by her husband, Paul of Caledonia, daughters; Kathleen (Jeffrey) Schwartz of Piffard, Karen Eccleston, of LeRoy; sons, David of Fl., Richard (Rebecca) of Albion, Paul (Billie Jo) Everhart of Brockport; 11 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews. Friends called Friday at the Alhart Funeral Home in Caledonia. Her Funeral Mass was held Saturday at St. Peter's Church, LeRoy. Officiating was Reverend Michael Rock. Interment was at St. Francis Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to me Teresa House, 21 Highland Rd., Geneseo, NY 14454.

Roy H. Hainsworth

Roy H. Hainsworth, age 83, of St. Petersburg Fl. formerly of Scottsburg died unexpectedly Tuesday, September 18, 2001 in St. Petersburg Fl. Roy was predeceased by his wife Thelma Steel Hainsworth in 1995, mother Freda Hainsworth in 2000 and brother Charles in 1999. Prior to his retirement Mr. Hainsworth had been employed as National Sales Manager for Reynolds Electric Co. Roy is a member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church of St. Petersburg and the Azura Masonic Lodge # 129 of Cranford NY. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. Survivors include his wife Phyllis Wellman Hainsworth. Brothers, George (Joan) Hainsworth of Victor NY and Joseph (Alta) Hainsworth of Scottsburg, Step-son John Wellman Jr. of Victoria Minn. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews including Janet  Roberts of Seminole Fl. Prayers were held at the Chamberlin Funeral Home Inc. in Dansville on Monday, September 24, 2001 followed by a funeral service at the Scottsburg United Methodist Church with the Reverend David Hotchkiss officiating. Burial took place in Union Cemetery Scottsburg.

Pauline E. Johnson

Pauline E. Johnson, 95, retired from DuBois Plastics in Avon, died Sept. 20, 2001 at Kirkhaven Nursing Home in Rochester. Mrs. Johnson lived on North St. in Geneseo prior to her entry into the nursing home. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Robert Ingram of Rochester; daughter-in-law Janet Johnson of Lincolnton, N.C.; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in July of 1961. She was born Nov. 3, 1905 in Millers, N.Y., the daughter of Frederick and Amelia (Thiel) Thiel. Visitation was held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Saturday. Funeral services were held Sept. 22 at Rector-Hicks Funeral Home with Rev. Francois LaCroix of Geneseo Central Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial, Boxwood Cemetery, Medina, N.Y.

Margaret (Gallipeau) McAllister

Margaret (Gallipeau) McAllister, 83, of Avon, died on Sept. 17, 2001 at the Avon Nursing Home. Mrs. McAllister was born on Oct. 3, 1917 in Rochester, the daughter of Harry Gallipeau and Leora Moore Gallipeau. She was predeceased by her husband Henry W. McAllister in 1970, and brother Eugene Gallipeau. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra (George) Munzinger of Avon; two sons and daughter-in-law, John (June) McAllister, Charles McAllister, both of Avon; seven grandchildren; nephew Arthur Gallipeau of Dansville; several great nieces and nephews. Calling hours and Funeral Services were held at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. in Avon with the Rev. George Davis officiating. Contributions may be made to the Avon Nursing Home, Activities Fund, Memorial Garden or the Livingston County Hospice in her memory. Interment, East Avon Cemetery in Avon.

Infant Dakota J. Pfuntner

Infant Dakota J. Pfuntner, of Wayland /Springwater, died September 22, 2001, son of loving parents James and Paulette Pfuntner, brother of James Pfuntner; his maternal grandmother Dale and Diana Colbert of Wayland, his paternal grandparents Robert and Florence Hill of Springwater and Bernard Stremovihtgi of Dansville; his maternal great grandmother Paul and June Elder of Rochester; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends attended a funeral and committal service at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springwater on Tuesday with the Rev. Richard Haas officiating. Arrangements by St. George-Stanton Funeral Home in Wayland.

Arlene J. Schubmehl

Arlene J. Schubmehl, 74, of 8 Helen Place,Wayland, died Sept. 19, 2001, at her home after a long illness. Arlene was born Feb. 24, 1927, in Wayland, the daughter of Vernon and Beatrice Schirmer Shetler. A native and life resident of Wayland, she married Frederick (Jr.) Schubmehl on Nov. 27, 1947 in St. Joseph's Church, Wayland. Prior to her retirement in 1986 she was employed at Ames Department Store. She was a Communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and she worked many years on the St. Joseph's Festival. She was predeceased by her brother Gary Shetler in 1999. She is survived by her husband Frederick (Jr.) Schubmehl; one daughter Cathy (Richard) Spencer; one son Terry (Cathy) Schubmehl; five grandsons; Kurt, Cory, Jason and Nick Spencer and Adam Schubmehl; two great grandsons, Mathew and Joseph Spencer, all of Wayland; two brothers, Robert Shetler of Florida and Donald (Mickey) Shetler of Wayland; three sisters, Betty Hocklander of Florida, Norma Englert of Wayland and Joyce Turybury of Mt. Morris; several nieces and nephews. Friends called Friday at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 W. Naples St. in Wayland. Prayer services were conducted Saturday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wayland. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery.
