Ruth K. Balmer

Ruth K. Balmer, age 86 of Caledonia died April 27, 2001 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, after a short illness. Ruth was born on April 11, 1915 in Limerock, NY to John and Marry (Skelly) Pangrazio. Ruth retired from Coopervision, Scottsville, and was a member of St. Columba Church. She is survived by her grandchildren; James (Karen) Goodburlet, CA, Fay (Michael) Pullyblank, Caledonia, Richard Goodburlet, Buffalo, and Marysue (Thomas) Hobika, Pittsford, five great-grandchildren, son-in-law; William Goodburlet, Caledonia, sister; Dolores (Henry) Clemens, Caledonia. She is predeceased by her brother; Edward Pangrazio, and daughter; Shirley Goodburlet. Friends my call Monday, 7-9 pm at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia. Her Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at 11:00 am at St. Columba Church, Caledonia. Interment St. Columba Cemetery, Caledonia. Memorials may be made to the Caledonia Ambulance, P.O. Jean E. Horan

Jean E. Horan 45 died on April 25, 2001 at Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, New York. Jean was born June 25, 1955 in Clifton Springs, New York the daughter of John R. Horan and Mary L. (Howe) Horan. She was employed by OHM Craft in Honeoye Falls, NY. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Horan of Lima; mother Mary Horan of Lima; brother David Horan of Honeoye Falls; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law Patricia (Greg) Pfleging of Irondequoit, Laurie (Tony) Cappozzi of Lima, Mary (Jack) Jennings of Greece, Susan Ripley of Honeoye Falls; close companion Kelly Krebbeks (his children Joe and Lauren); and dear friend Sharon Cameron; several nieces and nephews. Friends called at the O'Connell-Dougherty Funeral Home, Lima. Her Funeral Service was held at the Lima Baptist Church. Rev. Michael Maloney and Rev. Robert Wheeler officiating. Contributions may be made to the Lima Christian School (1575 Rochester Street, Lima, NY 14485) in her memory. Interment Oakridge Cemetery.

Glen I. Pestle

Glen I. Pestle age 92 of Allens Hill Road, Honeoye died Tuesday April 24, 2001 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. He was born the son of Irving and Marian Murray Pestle on January 27, 1909 in Bristol, NY. He was a self employed farmer his entire life. He was predeceased by his brothers Lavern, Earl and Ralph. Sisters Harriet, Isabell and Alice. He is survived by his daughter Marian (Henry) Washburn, of Pinnellas Park, Fl., grandchildren Jennette, Tosha and Glen Washburn. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. No prior calling. Friends may attend a graveside service Saturday 3:30 pm at the Evergreen Cemetery, Bristol. William J. Rossiter

William J. Rossiter, age 91, of Avon died Friday April 27, 2001 at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rochester May 20, 1909 the son of William and Louise (Klem) Rossiter. He was a graduate of St. Boniface School and Aquinas Institute. Bill received his Registered Nursing Degree from Rochester State Hospital. He was employed in state service for forty years, first at Rochester State Hospital then in Brooklyn and returning to Rochester. He retired in 1971. He was past State Vice President of CSEA and Chapter President at Rochester State Hospital. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-nine years. Betty J. (Hogan) Rossiter of Avon; two sons Michael and Daniel (Barbara) Rossiter; grandchildren Daniel William, Andrew, John, Thomas, and Sarah; step grandson Daniel Dangler; five great grand-children; sister-in-law Sylvia Rossiter, several nieces and nephews. Friends called Sunday at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home Inc. in Avon. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday at St. Agnes Church, Rev. Thomas Statt officiating. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Philip W. “Bud” Sandrock

Philip W. Sandrock, age 72, of Livonia died Thursday April 26, 2001 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. He was born Oct. 29, 1928 in Kitchener, Ontario the son of Arthur and Genevieve (Ringle) Sandrock. He has been a Realtor Broker since 1972 and owned and managed Sandrock Real Estate with his wife Claire. Bud was an active member of the Avon Springs Masonic Lodge and Rochester Consistory; Conesus Lake Association, Conesus Lake Sportsman's Club, Genesee Valley Riding and Driving Association, Livingston County Chamber of Commerce, Livingston County Republican Party, National Rifle Association, National Sporting Clays Association, Republican National Committee, Rochester Brooks Gun Club and the Genesee Valley Conservancy. He was also involved in the creation of the Genesee Valley Board of Realtors and served at one time as its secretary. Bud is survived by his wife of thirty years, Claire (Pink) Sandrock of Livonia; step-daughter Beth (Ray) Humphrey of Naples, Florida, Step-son Robert Shouldice of Midlothian, Virginia, son Mark (Bonnie) Sandrock and Grandson Les of Kitchener, Ontario, brother David (Fran) Sandrock of Waterloo Ontario and sister Patricia (Gordon) Cole of North Bay, Ontario. Friends called Sunday at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home Inc in Avon. Funeral Services were held at the convenience of the family. Interment, Avon Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Thomas Taylor officiating. Ruth Hazard Sawyer

Ruth Hazard Sawyer, 86, of Geneseo, formerly of Albion, died April 16, 2001, after a lengthy illness. She was born on May 30, 1914, in Albion, N.Y. She resided in Geneseo for 50 years. She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Geneseo where she served on the Altar Guild. She was a lifetime volunteer for the American Red Cross and a member of the Geneseo Garden Club. She was predeceased by her husband John “Jack” Sawyer Sr. She is survived by her son John M. Sawyer Jr. of Geneseo; two daughters, Ruth S. (Stephen) Staley of Indialantic, Fla. and Deborah S. (Richard) Short of Alamo, Calif; nine grandchildren, Michael Sawyer of Geneseo, Eric Sawyer of Mt. Morris, Stephen (Elizabeth) Sawyer, Marc Sawyer and John M. Sawyer III, all of Geneseo, Deborah (Fredrick) Simmler and Julia Staley, both of Florida, Katharine Short and Philip Short, both of California; two great grandchildren, McKenzie and Olivia Simmler, both of Florida. No prior calling. Private family services will be held with interment at Mt. Albion Cemetery, Albion, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, University of Rochester, P.O. Box 645, Rochester NY 14642.
