Robert M. Bickel

Robert M. Bickel age 78 of 14 Tuscarora Avenue, Geneseo, New York died Saturday April 21, 2001 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. He was born the son of Otto and Agnes (Melcher) Bickel on April 17, 1923 in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from the University of Chicago and received his masters in English from the University of Cincinnati. He served as a Radio Dispatcher in the Army in WWII. He also sailed with the Merchant Marines. He resided in Geneseo for over 35 years. He retired in 1992 as Livingston County Regional reporter for the Democrat and Chronicle for 26 years. He loved baseball, books, his family, and the sea. Survived by his wife Louise M.. 5 Sons Same (Rose) of Panama, Oliver of Plattsburgh, Alex, Owen and Evan all of Rochester. 4 Daughters Eve (Joe) Locurto and Jane (Raymod) Wright both of Rochester, Annabel (Cornell) Walker of Ypsilanti, MI and Rosalind Bickel of Los Angeles, CA. 7 Grandchildren. 3 Brothers Donald of Raliegh, NC, Arthur (LaVerne) of Mt. Prospect, IL and Paul (Pat) of Salina, CA. 1 Sister Helene Hansen of Farmington, NM. Many Nieces and Nephews. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, Inc. 111 Main Street, Geneseo, NY. Funeral Services to be held privated for the family. John Klein

John Klein, 78, of 305 Sullivan St., Mt. Morris died suddenly April 23, 2001 at his home. He was born the son of John C. and Flossie (Glover) Klein on Sept. 21, 1922 in Wayland. He was a veteran of the Navy during World War II. He retired in 1980 from Rochester Products where he worked as a Millwright for 41 years. He lived in Mt. Morris for over 20 years and was currently working at the Ridge Campsites in Mt. Morris. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley in 1993. He is survived by his three children, Andria L. Klein of Mt. Morris, John M. Klein of Geneseo and Jean Klein; four grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Ashley and Rebecca; one sister Florence (Paul) Hartman of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel St. (Route 408), Mt. Morris where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Nancy Overgard officiating. Interment, Whitehaven Memorial Park, Perinton, N.Y. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Morris Ambulance Fund or one's favorite charity.

Eleanor E. Morrow

Eleanor E. Morrow, 68, of Avon-Piffard, died on April 19, 2001, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a long illness. She was born on June 1, 1932, in Caledonia, the daughter of Lester Boylan and Josephine (Boyce) Boylan. She was predeceased by her son Vance Lee Morrow in 1996, and a sister Genevieve Sickles. She is survived by her husband James L. Morrow of Avon; son Aaron R. (Tamara) Morrow of Oregon; her children of love, Spring (William) Spuck of Fowlerville, Autumn Morrow of Avon, Richard T. (Renee) Morrow of Avon; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine (Gary) Davis of Washington; two brothers and sister-in-law, LaVerne (Sue) Boylan of Florida, Ronald (Bev) Boylan of Cuba, N.Y.; brother-in-law Jack Sickles of Avon; nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Josh, Dylan, Buck, Jessica, Ricky, Billy, Angel, Edna; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours and funeral services were held at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. in Avon with the Rev. Greg Mullin officiating. Contributions may be made to the Strong Tribute Program, Organ Procurement Program, 590 Mt. Hope Ave., Rochester NY 14627, in her memory.

Mary D. Muscato

Mary D. Muscato, 70, of 53 Stanley St., Mt. Morris, died April 22, 2001 at home. She was born on Sept. 3, 1930 in Groveland. She was head cook at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo for 25 years retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Mt. Morris where she was a former member of the Rosary Society. She married Frank L. Muscato on Oct. 20, 1951. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Frank L. Muscato; three children, Jane (Michael) O'Dell of Mt. Morris, Joseph (Vicki) Muscato Sr. of Henrietta and Karen (Deborah Roe) Muscato of Mt. Morris; five grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Bill O'Dell all of Mt. Morris, Sarah and Joseph Muscato Jr., both of Henrietta; three sisters, Sally Muscato of Hemlock, Elsie (Gary) Patterson of Lima and Katie (Fred) Stewart of Canandaigua; one brother Daniel (Margaret) Downey of Livonia; many nieces and nephews. Friends called Tuesday at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel St., (Route 408), Mt. Morris where prayers were said Wednesday at 9 am followed by a funeral mass at St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. Frank Erbe officiating. Interment, St. Patrick's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Morris Ambulance Fund, Livingston County Hospice Fund or the charity of your choice.

Ruth Hazard Sawyer

Ruth Hazard Sawyer, 86, of Geneseo, formerly of Albion, N.Y., died April 16, 2001, at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo. She was born on May 30, 1914, in Albion, the daughter of David and Marie (Eberle) Hazard. She resided in Geneseo for 50 years. She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Geneseo where she served on the Altar Guild. She was a lifetime volunteer for the American Red Cross and a member of the Geneseo Garden Club. She was predeceased by her husband John “Jack” Sawyer Sr. She is survived by her son John M. Sawyer Jr. of Geneseo; two daughter, Ruth S. (Stephen) Staley of Indialantic, Fla. and Deborah S. (Richard) Short of Alamo, Calif; nine grandchildren, Michael Sawyer of Geneseo, Eric Sawyer of Mt. Morris, Stephen (Elizabeth) Sawyer, Marc Sawyer and John M. Sawyer III, all of Geneseo, Deborah (Fredrick) Simmler and Julia Staley, both of Florida, Katharine Short and Philip Short, both of California; two great grandchildren, McKenzie and Olivia Simmler, both of Florida. No prior calling. Private family services will be held with interment at Mt. Albion Cemetery, Albion, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, University of Rochester, P.O. Box 645, Rochester NY 14642. Arrangement by the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 Main St. in Geneseo.

Edward D. Van Caeseele

Edward D. Van Caeseele, 81, of 11 Church St., Cohocton, died April 18, 2001, at the McAuley Manor in Hornell, N.Y. He was born March 3, 1920, the son of Edmond and Julia Van Caeseele in Farmington, N.Y. He operated the family farm with his father in Manchester. He married the former Dorothy Wawro on June 17, 1948, in Tioga, Pa. Ed later owned and operated the Town Tavern in Macedon from 1948 to 1968. In 1968 he moved to Cohocton where he founded the Van Caeseele Insurance Agency in Cohocton and branch offices in Naples, N.Y. and Prattsburg, N.Y. He retired in 1995. He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Cohocton; one daughter, Sharon Hahn (Norman) Strawser of Macedon; two sons, Paul (Roxanne) Van Caeseele of Arkport and Jeffrey Van Caeseele of Bath; five grandchildren, Gretchen Hahn, Paul Van Caeseele, Eric Van Caeseele, Rachael Van Caeseele and Megan Van Caeseele; one sister Paula Hartung of Farmington. Funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment, Mapleview Cemetery in Cohocton. Arrangements by St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 W. Naples St., Wayland, N.Y.

Francis E. Wright

Francis E. Wright “Fran” of West Main Street, Honeoye died Saturday April 21, 2001 at F. F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY at the age of 82. He was born the son of LeRoy and Blanch Wright on February 9, 1919 in Honeoye, NY. He was a retiree of Victor Insulator s and was a WW II Army Veteran. He was a member of the Honeoye-Hemlock American Legion. He is survived by his wife Lillian, his children Melissa (Joe) Raposa of Penfield, Monica Wright of Marion, NY, Patrick Wright, Andy Burnett of Canandaigua and Jeff Burnett of CO. Grandchildren Devon Bedette of Canandaigua and Jaeda Wright of Marion, NY. Sister Margaret “Peg” Carpenter of Cuba, NY. Several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday 709 p.m. only at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc.
