Sam Andolora

Retired mechanic

Sam Andolora, 88, of Caledonia, died March 27, 2003 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a long illness. He was born March 6, 1915 in LeRoy to Louis and Lena (Maisana) Andolora. He retired from General Crushed Stone in LeRoy as a mechanic. During World War II, Sam volunteered as a chef at Sampson Air Force Base. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, gardening, music, but mostly spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise (Rapone) Andolora; daughters and sons-in-law, Lena and Charles Daniels of Perry, Therese and David Fisher of Churchville; grandchildren, David (Mary), Jennifer (Frank), Jim (Colleen), Jody (Kerry) Fisher; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Stotts, Pearl (Joe) Privitera; brother, Michael (Edith) Andolora; sisters-in-law, Mary Andolora and Marge Bower; several nieces and nephews. His brothers, Joseph and Phillip and sisters, Sarah and Josephine predecease him. Friends called Saturday and Sunday at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 W. Main St. in Caledonia. His Funeral Mass was held Monday at St. Columba Church in Caledonia. Interment, St. Columba Cemetery.

Alice Roe Campbell

Livonia resident

Alice Roe Campbell, 82, of Livonia, died March 24, 2003 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born the daughter of Herbert and Ruth Rumfelt Miller on June 26, 1920 in White Deer, Pa. She was predeceased by her husbands, Lester Roe and Norman Campbell and daughters, Ruth Joanette and Peg Clements. She is survived by her sons, Paul Roe and Kent (Diane) Roe of Florida; sisters, Thelma (Richard) Johnson of Rochester and Frieda (Richard) Hickey of MI; brother Ted (Shirley) Miller of Florida; sisters-in-law, Connie Miller of Rochester and Rose Miller of Avon; grandchildren, Randy (Mela) Clements, Sue (Larry) Thomas, Tom (Laurie) Clements, Donna (Jim) Burkhardt, Sandy (David) Sanderson, Tracy Warner, Jenny Warner, Paul (Karen) Roe, Penny Roe and Jason Roe; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Friends called Friday at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., Route 15, Livonia where funeral services were held Saturday with the Rev. George Davis officiating. Burial, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneseo. Friends wishing may make memorial contributions to a charity of one's choice.

Luella Goodman

Style Center owner

Luella Goodman, 88, of 22 Murray St., Mt. Morris, died March 28, 2003 at the Jewish Home of Rochester. She was born the daughter of Morris and Annie (Perskey) Rabinowitz on April 12, 1914 in Utica, N.Y. She married Sidney Goodman on Feb. 27, 1934. Prior to her retirement in 1980 she owned and operated the Style Center of Mt. Morris with her husband Sidney for 46 years. She is survived by her daughter Melanie (Mitchell) Young of Beachwood, Ohio; daughter-in-law Karen (Craig) Pedecini of MA; two grandsons, Kevin Goodman of MA and Sean (Angela) Goodman of Ohio. She was predeceased by her husband Sidney in 1996 and son Richard Goodman in 1992. Memorial Services were held Monday at the John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel St. (Route 408) in Mt. Morris. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery in Batavia. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society. Agatha M. Steele Retired accountant Agatha M. Steele, 93, a retired accountant for Campus Auxiliary Services at SUNY Geneseo, died March 26, 2003 at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo. Mrs. Steele resided on Groveland Road in Geneseo prior to her entry into the nursing home in May 2002. She is survived by her four loving daughters, Louise (Claude) Wyckoff of Rochester, Sandra (Douglas) VanPutte of Rochester, Ann (Thomas) Morris of Rochester and Mollie L. Steele of Geneseo; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; niece Maryanne (Ralph) Lloyd of GA; nephew Jerry (Joan) Welch of Rochester. Private funeral services were held March 29 at Rector-Hicks Funeral Home in Geneseo with Pastoral Assistant Lucille Kane of Geneseo United Methodist Church officiating. Burial, Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the Geneseo Ambulance fund, P.O. Box 428, Geneseo NY 14454.

Charlotte J. Stephan

Rochester School retiree

Charlotte J. Stephan “Lottie”, 84, of Conesus, died March 27, 2003 at the Westgate Nursing Home in Gates. She was born the daughter of Franz and Rosa Gohne Gruchmann on Oct. 18, 1918 in Nevstadt, Germany. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred Stephan. She was a budget and accounting worker for the Rochester City School District. She is survived by her son Donald (Jane) Stephan of Rochester; foster son Nick Pawlizko; grandchildren, Crystal Stephan, Phil Lombardo and Lynn; several nieces and nephews. Friends called Monday at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., Route 15 in Livonia. Her Funeral Mass was held Monday at St. Joseph's Church, Washington St. in Livonia with the Rev.
