Jean M. DeGroat

Jean M. DeGroat, 76, a retired administrative assistant at the University of Rochester, died Feb. 19, 2003 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Mrs. DeGroat resided on Main St. In Geneseo. She is survived by her son Stephen (Kim) DeGroat of Colorado; her daughter Gretchen (Ken) Roth of Geneseo; her grandchildren, Kirsten and Mackenzie DeGroat, Sarah, Hannah and Ethan Roth; her brother James (Anita) Monteith of Florida; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George DeGroat in 1984. She was born June 5, 1926 in Nyack, N.Y. the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Bookmiller) Monteith. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Geneseo. Memorial services were held Feb. 25 at the Central Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kathryn Stimson officiating. Dean C. McCollum

Dean C. McCollum, 72, formerly of Avon, died Feb. 9, 2003 at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua. He was a former resident of the Elm Manor Nursing Home in Canandaigua. He was born on Aug. 13, 1930 in Middlebury Center, N.Y. the son of Ronald McCollum and Hildred (Walker) McCollum. He married Doris M. Rupe on Jan. 23, 1960. He was a retired materials handler for the Mixing Equipment Company in Rochester where he worked for over 20 years. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Doris M. McCollum of Canandaigua; two daughters, Carla Gleason of Canandaigua, Beverly Holland of Elmira; son Rickie L. McCollum of Bloomfield, Ky.; stepson Michael (Nancy) Froome of Avon; nine grandchildren; two brothers, John “Frank” (Toni) McCollum of Geneva, N.Y., Warren (Dawn) McCollum of Wyoming, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services were held at the Lima Baptist Church in Lima with Rev. Michael Maloney officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a favorite charity of your choice in his memory. Arrangements by the O'Connell-Dougherty Funeral Home in Lima.

Felix J. Radesi

Felix J. Radesi, 70, of Canandaigua St. in Cuylerville, died Feb. 22, 2003 at Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw, N.Y. He is survived by one son Felix Radesi Jr. of Batavia; one daughter Deborah (Emery) Uveino of Perry; grandson Jeffrey Uveino of Perry; three sisters, Anna Brick of Leicester, Lolly Cicero of Perry, Carrie (Art) Jones of Leicester; two brothers, Daniel (Mary) Radesi of Honeoye Falls, John (Frances) Radesi of Rochester; sister-in-law Betty Radesi of Cuylerville; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Sue Stutzman Radesi and his brothers, Joe, Frank, Tony and Naish Radesi. He was born Feb. 23, 1932 in Cuylerville the son of Peter and Francesca (Galleta) Radesi. Visitation was held Tuesday at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where Funeral services were held Feb. 26 with Pastoral Assistant Mabel Treadwell officiating. Burial, Leicester Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cuylerville Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 247, Leicester NY 14481.

Andrew Grant Simpson

Andrew Grant Simpson, 86, of Caledonia died Feb. 14, 2003 at his home in Caledonia. Mr. Simpson was born June 26, 1916 in Mumford to Alfred E. and Grace (Grant) Simpson. He worked for International Salt Company in Retsof for 28 years as chief shipping clerk. He served in World War II, and was a member of the United Presbyterian Stone Church for 72 years, and a member of the Masonic Lodge 830 for over 50 years and a member and past patron for the Caledonia Chapter of the order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Madeline; sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Emily of Ohio, Brian and Sherry Simpson of Caledonia; grandsons, Jon of California, Aaron of New York City, Ryan (Johnna) of Houston, Texas, Chad and Brian II of Caledonia; sister, Jane (John) Krenzer of Caledonia; sisters-in-law, Lois Jennings and Karen Payne both of Iowa and Clara Simpson of Caledonia; several nieces and nephews. His parents, two brothers and infant son predecease him. Friends and family called on Feb. 17 at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 W. Main St., Caledonia. His Memorial Service was held Feb. 18 at the United Presbyterian Stone Church, Caledonia. Rev. Merl Galusha officiated the service. A private interment took place at Mumford Rural Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the United Presbyterian Stone Church, 3177 Church St., Caledonia NY 14423.

Elizabeth V. (Aten) Yorks

Elizabeth V. (Aten) Yorks, 96, of 2 Jacqueline Way, Geneseo, formerly of Lima, died Feb. 21, 2003 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She was born the daughter of Elmer and Estelle (Deniston) Aten on Sept. 9, 1906 in Groveland. She was a member of the Lima Presbyterian Church and former member of the Groveland Federated Church and the Honeoye Falls Grange. She is survived by her three sons, Richard and Betty Yorks of Livonia, Roy Yorks and friend Isabelle of Mt. Morris and Ralph and Marylin Yorks of Lima; one daughter Phyllis and Allan Little of Canastota; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and special friend Barbara Titsworth of Groveland. She was predeceased by her husband Carl J. Yorks in 1990. Friends called Tuesday at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 21 Big Tree St. (Routes 15 & 20A), Livonia where services were held following calling with the Rev. Kay Michelinie officiating. Interment, Lakeview Cemetery, Groveland. Memorials may be made to the Lima Presbyterian Church, 7295 Main St., Lima NY 14485 or the Lifeline/EARS, 111 Clara Barton St., Dansville NY 14435
