Elsie M. Biggie

Elsie M. Biggie, 55, died Feb. 11, 2002 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Mrs. Biggie lived on Chestnut St. in York and was previously from Reynoldsville, Pa. She is survived by her husband Parx O. Biggie; her son Christopher (Paula) Biggie of Greensburg, Pa.; daughter Dawn (Mike) Whepley of Grove City, Ohio; five grandchildren, Sheri, Stephanie and Lance Biggie, Jessica and Tiffany Schimmel; her father Elmer Sprankle Sr. of Reynoldsville, Pa; five sisters, Elizabeth (Dennis) Hemmer of Detroit, Mich., Patricia (Bill) Rake of Reynoldsville, Pa., Amy (Jack) Baummer of DuBois, Pa., Rebecca (Dave) Caylor of Brookville, Pa., Annette (Greg) Patton of Reynoldsville, Pa.; five brothers, Howard (Fran) Sprankle of Manchester, Vt., Elmer (Judy) Sprankle Jr. of Reynoldsville, Pa., Ted Sprankle of Reynoldsville, Pa., Sam (Kathy) Sprankle of Reynoldsville, Pa., Stanley (Teresa) Sprankle of Raeford, N.C.; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Chase Sprankle and her brother John Sprankle. She was born Feb. 19, 1946 in DuBois, Pa., the daughter of Elmer and Annie (Chase) Sprankle Sr. No prior calling hours. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, 5500 Main St., Suite 110, Williamsville NY 14221. Funeral services were held Feb. 15 at the First United Methodist Church in Reynoldsville, Pa. with Rev. Hughie Orsborn officiating. Private interment at the convenience of the family. Jeanne K. Brickman

Jeanne K. Brickman, 89, a retired teacher for the Pembroke, NY school system, died Friday, February 15, 2002 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. Mrs. Brickman was a resident of the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo prior to her admission to the hospital. She was also a resident of Alpine Manor in Lima before moving to Geneseo. She is survived by her 2 daughters Marilyn (Joel) Fenton of Geneseo, and Barbara (Kenneth) Hodgins of Rochester, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilson R. Brickman in 1983 and her grandson Peter Hodgins in 1982. She was born June 13, 1912 in Cougar, Oklahoma the daughter of Richard and Jeanne (Taylor) Gaver. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220 or the Alzheimers Association, 435 East Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620. Private Funeral services were held at Christ Community Church of Geneseo with Pastor Khan officiating. Burial will be in the Garden Sanctuary, Seminole, Florida.

Josephine A. Least

Josephine A. Least, 87, retired from the housekeeping staff at SUNY Geneseo, died Saturday, February 16, 2002 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. Mrs. Least retied on Reservoir Rd. in Geneseo. She is survived by her husband Charles Least Sr., daughter Gloria (Roy) Holt of Piffard, NY, son Charles (Ann Marie) Least Jr. of Webster, NY, 4 grandchildren Michael Holt, Jon, Christine and Michael Least, sister Rosalie Esposito of AZ, dear friend and aide Yvonne Eldridge, several nieces and nephews. She was born July 02, 1914 in Mt. Morris, NY the daughter of Charles and Rose (Navarro) Runofla. She was a member of St. Mary's Church. Visitation was held at the Rector Hicks Funeral Home in Geneseo. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, 20 Ramona St., Rochester, NY 14613 or Noyes Memorial Hospital, 111 Clara Barton St., Dansville, NY 14437. Funeral Mass was held at St. Mary's Church in Geneseo with Father Daniel McMullin officiating. Burial in St. Mary's cemetery in Geneseo.

Deborah R. Young

Deborah R. Young, 52, longtime music teacher at York Central School, died Tuesday, February 12, 2002 at her residence on Main St. in York. She is survived by her parents Andrew and Shirley Ryan of Geneseo, her brother Michael Ryan of Rochester, her sister Marilyn Ryan-Piper of Lakewood, NY, niece Caitlin Piper of Lakewood, NY, cousins Mark and Leslie Ryan, Gay Wyles. She was preceded in death by her husband Berton Young in July of 1991. She was born September 22, 1949 in Troy, NY the daughter of Andrew and Shirley (Sibley) Ryan. She was a graduate of Geneseo Central School and State University of New York at Fredonia. She was a member and past matron of the Geneseo Chapter of the Order on the Eastern Star #481. No prior calling. Memorial services held at York United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Neil Frood officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York.
