Althea Maxon Barager

Althea Maxon Barager (Pike), 90, a retired quality controller for Sylvania Corporation in Batavia, died Feb. 7, 2007 at her residence on Perry Road in Pavilion, surrounded by her large loving family. She is survived by two daughters, Betty (Ralph) Frisch of Rush, Marion (Robert) Taylor of Pavilion; one son, Kenneth Pike of Brockport; stepson Robert (Pearl) Pike of Pavilion; stepdaughter, Gretchen (Sam) Meals of Arizona; eight grandchildren, 15 step grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; son-in-law Eugene Fries of Greece; daughter-in-law Alberta Pike of Tennessee; five sisters, Wilma Nichols of Bennington, N.Y., Daisy MacPherson of LeRoy, Ercel Putney of Alexander, Genevieve Reiner of Bennington, N.Y., Elaine (Joseph) Heller of Bennington, N.Y., Gifford Maxon of Bennington, N.Y.; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her stepdaughter Dorothy Fries, her stepson Everett Pike, her brothers, Howard, Stuart, Lavern and Dain Maxon. She was born March 6, 1916 in Bennington, N.Y. the daughter of Raymond and Edna Knight Maxon. Visitation was held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Feb. 11. Funeral Services were held Feb. 11 at the Geneseo United Methodist Church with Rev. Douglas Wilson of the Geneseo United Methodist Church and Rev. Mark Stegler of the Avon Zion Episcopal Church officiating. Burial, Avon Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Martin Samuel Fausold

Martin Samuel Fausold, 45, of 17 Commercial St. in Livonia, died Feb. 6, 2007 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Mr. Fausold had previously resided in Mt. Morris and Geneseo. He is survived by his father, Dr. Martin Fausold of Rochester; three sisters, Sharon McCaffrey of Martinsburg, W. Va., Cynthia (John) Schwanz of Ellicott City, Md., Marti (Steven) Fausold-Mowers of Fishers, N.Y.; nieces and nephews, Stacy (John) McCaffrey, Adam McCaffrey, John and Molly Schwanz, Austin, CoeDee, Georgia Mowers; great nieces and nephews, Destiny, CJ, and Sierra McCaffrey; aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Daryl Fausold. He was born April 18, 1961 in Batavia, the son of Martin and Daryl Clement Fausold. He was a graduate of Geneseo Central School, Genesee Community College and SUNY Geneseo. He had been employed as a disc jockey in Dansville and Blairsville, Pa. No prior calling hours. Memorial Services were held Feb. 11 at the West Henrietta Baptist Church with Pastor David Hess officiating. Interment, Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo. Catherine M. Meyer

Caledonia resident

Catherine M. Meyer, 89, of Caledonia, died Feb. 10, 2007 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Mrs. Meyer was born April 29, 1917 in Rochester to Walter and Anna Kummer. She worked for BOCES, Fairport until her retirement. Mrs. Meyer enjoyed painting, reading, crossword puzzles, word searches and playing euchre. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Michael and Virginia Meyer; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Ronald Loth; four grandchildren, Mark (Donna) Meyer, Michelle (Michael) McGuirk, Robert (Terri) Loth, Robin Leccese; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Robert H. Meyer predeceases Mrs. Meyer. There was no prior calling. Friends attended her Memorial Service, Wednesday, Feb. 14 at the First Presbyterian Church, 3080 W. Main St., Caledonia. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Rochester Lifetime Care, 3111 Winton Rd., South, Rochester, NY 14623. Arrangements made by Alhart Funeral Home.

Ruth P. Peraino

Geneseo resident

Ruth P. Peraino, 91, a resident of Conesus Lake Nursing Home, died there Feb. 10, 2007. Mrs. Peraino had lived in Geneseo prior to her entry into the nursing home last December. She was a longtime resident of Vallego, Calif. before moving to Geneseo. She is survived by five sisters, Maude Maffia of New Jersey, Alta Hainsworth of Geneseo, Pauline Gilg of Dansville, Ida Mae Wright of Geneseo, Ruby Brown of Geneseo; one brother Roy (Jan) DeLavergne of LeRoy; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter Peraino. She was born Dec. 20, 1915 in Avon the daughter of Sufrine and Florence LaRoche DeLavergne. No prior calling hours. Funeral Services will be private. Interment, Leicester Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Teresa House, 21 Highland Rd., Geneseo NY 14454.
