While theatre was his primary interest he was also knowledgeable in numerous related areas, particularly dance, music and film. Additionally, because of early training and interest in the sciences Barrett was a member of the metalurgy laboratory team for the Manhattan Project during World War II. Both gourmet cooks, Dr. Barrett and his wife were popular Geneseo hosts. After 32 years in Geneseo, the Barretts moved to Pittsford two years ago.
