click here In Memoriam Ruth P. Macauley Groveland resident Ruth P. Macauley, 85, of East Groveland Road, died Feb. 2, 2007 at the Avon Nursing Home. Mrs. Macauley was retired from the State University of New York Geneseo where she served the college as a purchasing agent. She is survived by one son, Thomas (Georgia) Macauley of Groveland; two daughters, Sandra Macauley of Groveland, Patricia Macauley of Geneseo; eight grandchildren, Brian (Bridget) Macauley of Florida, Dean Macauley of Groveland, Brenda Peters of Groveland, Craig (Alison) Macauley of Geneseo, Sheila (Scott) Cripps of Geneseo, Troy Staley of Groveland, Glenn (Mary Catherine) Staley of Geneseo, Sarah (Michael) Kamm of Mendon; 19 great grandchildren; one brother Donald Pyle of New Jersey; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death of by her husband Andrew Macauley in 2005, former Groveland Town Supervisor. She was born Feb. 7, 1921 in Neptune, N.J. the daughter of Reginald and Myrtle Freeman Pyle. Mrs. Macauley was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Geneseo. Visitation was held at the Rector-Hick Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Feb. 5. Memorial Services were held Feb. 6 at Central Presbyterian Church in Geneseo with Rev. Beth Godfrey officiating. Interment will be in the Central Presbyterian Church Urn Garden. Rhodes Cuylerville resident Beverly E. Rhodes, 56, of Dutch Corners Road in Cuylerville, died Jan. 30, 2007 at Highland Hospital in Rochester. She is survived by her husband Mark; his parents, Wendell and Barbara Rhodes of Groveland; her children, Kelly Bowman, James M. (Lynn) Bowman and Joseph Bowman, all of Niagara Falls; grandchildren, Rachel and Jaymie Bowman; sisters, Sandy Myers of Wilcox, Pa., Kay (Wally) Lubash of Greensburg, Pa., Kathy (John) Williams of Johnsonburg, Pa., Jane (Kenny) Muroski of Sayreville, N.J.; brothers, Robert (Mary) Zimmerman of Greensburg, Pa., Charles Zimmerman of Bradford, Pa., Donald (Mary) Zimmerman of Glen Hazel, Pa., William Zimmerman of Rasselas, Pa.,; brothers-in-law, Kevin (Beth) Rhodes of Groveland, Eric (Beth) Rhodes of York; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Hilda Zimmerman. She was born Dec. 12, 1950 in Bradford, Pa. the daughter of Michael and Hilda Van Tassal Zimmerman. Visitation was held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Feb. 2. Funeral services will be private. Friends were invited to a reception on Feb. 3 at the Greenway Pub in Cuylerville. Wayne D. Simpson Former Mt. Morris reisdent Wayne D. Simpson. 42 of 42 West Avenue, Dansville formerly of Mount Morris, died suddenly Jan. 29, 2007, at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell. He was born the son of Roy and Mary (Michalak) Simpson on May 29, 1964, in Amenia, N. Y. He had been employed at Mount Morris Central School for 10 years as a cleaner. He is survived by his brother Donald Simpson of Rochester; aunts, uncles and several cousins and many dear friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Roy and Mary Simpson and a very dear friend Janet Ferrin. Friends called Saturday at the John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel St., (Route 408), Mount Morris where Memorial Services were held following calling with Deacon George Spezzano officiating. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery. Peter Pete Sinclair, 87, of Caledonia, died Jan. 30, 2007 at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home. The son of Howard and Marguerite Sinclair, Pete was born Jan. 17, 1920 in Caledonia. Mr. Sinclair worked for many years as an artificial inseminator in the farming industry and retired from Eastern Artificial Inseminator, Ithaca, N.Y. He was a charter member of the Caledonia Fair, Board Directors, and a member and past deacon for the First Presbyterian Church, Caledonia. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Tina Sinclair of Caledonia; step granddaughter, Phyllis; sister-in-law, Betty Sinclair; brother-in-law, Duane Hall; several nephews. His wife, Grace; sister Mary Hall and brother, Charles Sinclair predeceased Mr. Sinclair. Friends called Tuesday, Feb. 6 at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 W. Main St. in Caledonia. His Memorial Service was held Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church, 3080 W. Main St. in Caledonia. Interment, Mumford Rural Cemetery. Irene Sloan Lakeville resident Irene Sloan of Parkwood Lane in Lakeville, died Feb. 1, 2007 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She was born Jan. 19, 1928 in New York City. She married Clyde W. Sloan Nov. 28, 1957. She is survived by her husband, Clyde; her children, Robbin Sloan of Dansville and James C. Sloan of New Freedom, Pa.; two grandchildren, Brennon and Parke. Friends and family attended services on Monday at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home in Livonia with the Rev. Keith Burr officiating. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Noyes Hospital Hospice Unit, 111 Clara Barton St., Dansville NY 14437. Catherine M. Weller Lima resident Catherine M. Weller, 83, of West Main St. in Lima, died Jan. 31, 2007 at Highland Hospital. She was born in Elmira, June 27, 1923 the daughter of Paul and Allene Smith Culver. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest in 1991. She is survived by her children, Mary Lou (Michael) Hanson of Avon and Rosemarie (Robert Guck) of Churchville; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; her brothers, William (Annabelle) Culver of Tioga Center, N.Y. and Loren Culver of Montana; nieces and nephews. Private Funeral Services were held at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home in Livonia with burial in Maplegrove Cemetery in Horseheads.
