Jane E. Barrett

York resident

Jane E. Barrett, 75, died Jan. 18, 2006 at the Teresa House in Geneseo. Mrs. Barrett was a longtime resident of Old State Road in the Township of York. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Edward “Bob” Barrett; son Timothy (Rita Lawton) Barrett of Mt. Morris; granddaughters, Christine Hawes (Gianni) Pettiti of Rochester, Jessica Predmore (Scott) Terry of Mt. Morris, Gabrielle Barrett of Mt. Morris; great grandchildren, Devon Terry and Cheyanne Kozlowsky; many nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her daughter Gayle Barrett. She was born Sept. 12, 1930 in Batavia, N.Y. the daughter of Benjamin and Hazel Wade Mooney. Visitation was held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Jan. 21 where Funeral Services were held Saturday afternoon with Rev. Kirk Dudek of the Calvary Chapel of the Genesee Valley officiating. Burial, Mt. Ash Cemetery in Covington. Memorials may be made to the Teresa House, 21 Highland Road, Geneseo NY 14454.

Francis J. Boyd

Wadsworth resident

Francis J. Boyd, 42, of Boyd Lane in Wadsworth, died suddenly Jan. 23, 2006 at his residence. He is survived by his wife Debra Davis Boyd; his children, Francis and Julieanna Boyd at home; mother Flora Boyd of Wadsworth; sisters, Sybil (Jim) Hunt of York. Paula (Don) Jacobs of Leicester, Stephanie (Chad) Valentino of Leicester, Christine Boyd of Wadsworth; brothers, Jerry (Jane) Boyd of Wadsworth, Larry (Terry) Holbrook of Leicester; mother-in-law Janet Chavez of Iowa; sister-in-law Misty Davis of Arizona; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Jerry Boyd in 1999. He was born April 10, 1963 in Warsaw, N.Y., the son of Jerry and Flora Cuozzo Boyd. He was a graduate of York Central School and was employed by the Dolomite Corporation in Gates, N.Y. Visitation was held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Tuesday. Funeral Mass, Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. at St. Lucy's Church in Retsof with Father Patrick Connor officiating. Burial, Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York. Katelyn Jade Brewer

Mt. Morris/Nunda resident

Katelyn Jade Brewer, of Mt. Morris-Nunda, died Jan. 21, 2006 at age 16. Our beautiful dancing angel died surrounded by her loving family as a result of a motor vehicle accident. She is survived by her loving mother and best friend Vicky Brewer; loving sister and best friend Brittany Brewer; maternal grandparents, Rose “Nanie” and George “Papa” Foote; uncle George Foote who was like a father to her and his wife Carol Foote; boyfriend Sean Levey; loving pets, Mocha, Betty, Sophie and Rainbow; her father Danny (Maureen) Brewer; paternal grandparents Merle and Grace Brewer; uncle Walt Brewer and Aunt Sandy Yates; cousins Freddy and Justine Yates and Samantha Brewer; several great aunts, uncles and cousins. Katelyn also had many dear and loving friends at Keshequa Central, Mt. Morris Central and the Mt. Morris Dance Centre. Friends called Tuesday at the John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel St. (Route 408), Mt. Morris where prayers were said Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church at 10 a.m. Interment, Oakwood Cemetery in Nunda. In lieu of flowers. Jesse A. Phelps Sr.

Vietnam War veteran

Jesse A. Phelps Sr., 64, of 7484 Honeoye Road, Hemlock, died Jan. 19, 2006 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. He was born the son of Harlan and Frieda Phelps on Aug. 28, 1941 in Liberty, Pa. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement in 2001 he was employed as a union carpenter in Rochester for over 30 years. He married Helen Weaver on May 17, 1972. He is survived by his wife Helen; three children, Jesse (Laurie) Phelps Jr. of Lima, Gabrielle of Pennsylvania and Judy of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Grant of Tennessee, Joshua and Ashley of Lima; his parents, Harlan and Frieda Phelps of Pennsylvania; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emil and Bessie Weaver of HI; brother Charles Phelps of Florida and Sharon Warn of Oregon; several nieces and nephews. Friends called Monday at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree St. (Route 15 & 20A), Livonia. In lieu of flowers. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Marie J. Ruddy

Mrs. Marie J. Ruddy of Dahlonega, GA died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at her daughter's residence following a short illness. She was 86. Mrs. Ruddy was a native of Mt. Morris, NY and a former resident of Margate, FL. She was a homemaker and was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Ruddy was the daughter of the late Michael and Nunzia Lazzaro Palma and was also preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Ruddy, three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joanna and Bill Miller, Dahlonega; brother, Michael Palma, Mt. Morris, NY; sister, Ann Monroe, Mt. Morris, NY; grandchildren, Bill and Shannon Miller, Portland, OR; Jackie and Laszlo Toth, Alpharetta, GA; Jenna and Todd Filipps, Hoboken, NJ; and numerous other relatives. Services for Mrs. Ruddy were held Jan. 7 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega with Monsignor Steven Churchwell officiating. Burial followed in Dahlonega Memorial Park.
