Gladys C. Kear

Gladys C. Kear, 91, a retired telephone operator for Rochester Telephone's Canandaigua office, died January 18, 2002 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. Mrs. Kear lived in Canandaigua before retiring in Daytona Beach, FL. She was a resident of the SNF in Warsaw since January of 2001. She was born July 2, 1910 in Geneseo, the daughter of Edward and Delia (Aprile) Clark. She is survived by one sister, Luella Shurtleff of Piffard; three nieces, Ruth Ann (George) Burns of York, Dianna (David) Gurak of Livonia; Linda (Nick) Macaluso of Leicester; one nephew Jay (Carmella) Brick of Perry; several grandnieces and nephews; great grandnieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Kear in 1969. Private Funeral Services were held Sunday at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home in Geneseo with Lucille Kane of Geneseo United Methodist Church officiating. Burial Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 435 East Henrietta Road. Rochester, NY 14620.

Marion L. Pitt

Marion L. Pitt, 77, of 79 Anne Marie Lane, Canadice, formerly of Honeoye, passed away Jan. 17, 2002, at the Teresa House in Geneseo. She was born the daughter of John A. and Emma M. (Clark) Bush on March 4, 1924 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Marion was a full time wife and mother. She gave all her time to her family. She was also active in the Ontario County Seniors Programs. She also volunteered at the Honeoye Primary School Reading Program. She was a long time member at the Canadice Methodist Church. Marion had many friends and will be loved forever in our hearts. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Raymond E. Pitt; four children, Jody (Karen) Pitt of Conesus, Gene (Vickie) Pitt of Michigan, John (Linda) Pitt of Lima, and Roben Menz of Lakeville; grandchildren, Jeremy and Alica Pitt, Roxanne (David) Petrowski and Billy Pitt, Richard (Mindy), Holly, Michael & Jason Pitt, Sarah, Heidi and Joshua Menz; great grandchildren, David and Nicholas Petrowski and Joshua Pitt; nieces, Linda (Vernon) Klein and Barbara (Mark) Randolph, nephew Ken (Alice) Clark; many great and great-great nieces and nephews. No prior calling. Memorial Services to be held Saturday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m. at the Canadice Methodist Church with the Rev. Duane Bartz officiating. Anthony J. Radesi

Anthony J. Radesi, 65, of 16 Shepard Ave., Mt. Morris, died suddenly Jan. 20, 2002 in Venice, Fla. He was born the son of Dominick and Bertha (Swartz) Radesi on Nov. 27, 1936 in Rochester. Prior to his retirement in 1992 he was employed as an investigator at SUNY Geneseo for 24 years and had 33 years of state service.. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church. He was predeceased by his wife Frances and son David. He is survived by his three children, Michael (Lisa) Radesi of California, Chris (Debra) Radesi of N.C. and Toni Ann (Daniel) Price of Mt. Morris; four grandchildren, Crissy, Matthew, Ashley and Andrew; one great grandson Erik; his mother Bertha Radesi of West Henrietta; sister Margaret Casteel of West Henrietta; nieces and nephews. Friends called Wednesday at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street (Route 408), Mt. Morris where prayers will be said Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 9:30 at St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. Michael Brown officiating. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery. Anna Rurka

Anna Rurka, 71, of 12 Columbus Ave., Mt. Morris, died Jan. 21, 2002 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She was born on Dec. 1, 1930 in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Mt. Morris. She is survived by her husband Frank and many dear friends. Friends may call Friday 9 to 11 a.m. at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street (Route 408), Mt. Morris, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m with the Rev. Michael Brown officiating. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Church, Home and Heart Project, 46 Stanley St., Mt. Morris NY 14510.

Kenneth B. Simpson

Kenneth B. Simpson,77, retired farmer at Simpson Farms in York, died January 20, 2002 at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo. Mr. Simpson lived on Simpson Road in Caledonia prior to his entry in the SNF in 2001. He was born August 17, 1924 in York, the son of N. Reid and Annette (MacIntyre) Simpson. Mr. Simpson was a longtime member of the York United Presbyterian Church, York Fire Department, Livingston County Farm Bureau, a 1961 charter member of PRO-FAC Cooperative in Rochester and a former leader of the 4-H Tractor Operator Program. He is survived by his wife, Florence Batron Simpson; son Kevin (Judith) Simpson of York; daughter Lynne (Pete) Hudak of Henrietta; grandsons Jeff Simpson of Rochester, David Hudak of Henrietta; brother Raymond (Margaret) Simpson of York; sister Phyllis (Everett) Hunn of Piffard; several nieces and nephews. HE was preceded in death by his son David Simpson in 1948. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2002 at 11:00 am at the York United Presbyterian Church where a reception will follow. Rev. Neil Frood will officiate services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the York United Presbyterian Church, 2662 Main St., Box 41, York, NY 14592 or York Fire Department, P. O. Box 95, York NY 14592.
