Donald A. Bergner
Donald A. Bergner, 82, formerly of Morrisville and Irondequoit and a resident of Hudson, Fla., died Jan. 1, 2007 at Highland Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Marshfield, Oregon on May 26, 1924, the son of Rev. Charles Bergner and Regina Adams. He was retired from Buckpitt and Company in Rochester. He was a member of the Morrisville Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, June; his children, Pamela (Richard) Leonard of Livonia, Wendy Gilley of Florida and David (Tami) Bergner of Florida; grandchildren, Paul and Matthew Leonard, Melissa and David Bidgood; great grandchildren, Seth and Jared Leonard. No prior calling. Funeral Services will be private. Friends wishing may make memorial contributions to the Livonia Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 8, Livonia NY 14487. Arrangements entrusted to the Kevin W. Janice M. Carrick
Retired teacher's aide
Avon - Janice M. Carrick, 86, died on Jan. 3, 2007 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Mrs. Carrick was born on May 7, 1920 in Rochester the daughter of Craig and Cornelia Nelson. She was retired from Avon Central Schools where she worked as a teacher's aide. She was a foster grandparent, member of the XYZ Club, Sweet Adeline's, and the Eastern Star of Henrietta. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Richard) Shane, Patricia (Gary) Baker; son Kevin Carrick; grandchildren, Melissa, Michael Shane, Scott (Marnie) Baker, Kelly (Kyle) Montague; many relatives and friends. Calling hours were held Jan. 7 at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 350 Genesee St. in Avon where her Funeral Service was held Jan. 8 with Rev. Larry Beman officiating. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery in Henrietta. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
Shirley E. Gilbert
Livonia - Shirley E. Gilbert, 83, died Jan. 6, 2007 at Highland Hospital in Rochester. She was born the daughter of Albert and Hazel Buck Eaton on Dec. 23, 1923 in Rochester. She was predeceased by her husband Scott in 1984. She was a Postal Clerk for the Livonia Post Office for over 20 years. She was a member of the UCC of Livonia and the Country Side Garden Club where she was a founding member. She is survived by her children, James S. Gilbert of Florida and Jerry (Cindy) Gilbert of Livonia; grandchildren, David, Timothy and Kathryn Gilbert; nieces, Robin Peck of Fairport and Bonnie Chanani of Buffalo. Friends called Tuesday at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., Route 15 in Livonia where services were held Wednesday with the Rev. David Grear officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Livonia Ambulance Fund, Box 8, Livonia NY 14487.
Eileen J. Martin
Hemlock - Eileen J. Martin, 75, died Jan. 5, 2007 at her home. She was born the daughter of Charles and Gertrud Warren Haus on June 26, 1931 in Batavia. She was a legal secretary for Harter, Secrest and Emery Law firm in Rochester. She was predeceased by her son Christopher Martin on Oct. 8, 2006. She is survived by her husband, Dayle Martin; children, Debbie (Larry) Duke of Hemlock, Glenn (Nancy Sabato) Martin of South Orange, N.J.; four grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Turcotte of Bloomfield, Sandra (Murray Sabato) Pelton of Honeoye and Linda (Roger) Wright of Florida; several nieces and nephews. No prior calling. Friends may attend her Memorial Service Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hemlock Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Metz officiating. Arrangements by Kevin W.
