Marlene D. Boehles

Marlene D. Boehles, 64, of Stone Hill Road, Lakeville, died Jan. 4, 2001, at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester. She was born the daughter of Carl and Mildred Boles Specht on Aug. 1, 1936, in Livonia. She was a member of the Lakeville United Church of Christ. She was predeceased by her mother Mildred Specht and her sister Shirley Sills. She is survived by her daughters, Christine Sadler of Maryland, Jennifer Boehles of Maryland, Katherine Boehles of Livonia Center; granddaughter Ashley Boehles Sadler of Maryland; brother Ed (Julie) Dieter of Lakeville; companion John Winteroth; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. No prior calling. Memorial services will be held Jan. 27 at the Lakeville United Church of Christ with the Rev. Lauri Craig officiating. Marion H. Cooligan

Marion H. Cooligan, 73, of Lakeview Dr., Honeoye, passed away peacefully on Jan. 1, 2001, after she lost her battle to lung cancer. She was born the daughter of John and Edna Lovett Miller on Dec. 13, 1927, in Spencerport, N.Y. She was predeceased by her husband Donald I. Cooligan Sr. She was a member of the Honeoye Hemlock American Legion Auxiliary, the Richmond Fire Department and Ambulance, the Honeoye Area Senior Citizens Club and the Naples Area Senior Citizens Club. She was a retiree for the State of New York. She is survived by her children, Donna (Dave) Dorman of Seattle, Wash., Karleen (Rich) Haight of Rochester, Deborah (John) Renner of Honeoye, Donald Cooligan Jr. also of Seattle, Rick (Kathy) Cooligan of Webster; stepdaughter Judy Purcell of Orange, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Carol) Miller of Fairport; and many nieces and nephews. No prior calling. Friends attended a Memorial Mass Friday at St. Mary's Church in Honeoye. Burial, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneseo. David C. Cottone

California/Avon - David C. Cottone died Dec. 12, 2000, at home after a brief illness. He was born in Rochester Sept. 29, 1945, the son of Joseph and Rose Cottone. He was a self-employed contractor. He was predeceased by his father Joseph Cottone. He is survived by his wife, Donna Morrow Cottone; daughter Kathryn (Matthew) Torres; four grandchildren, all of California; his mother Rose Cottone of Avon; four brothers, Pat and Joseph of Las Vegas, Chuck and Gary of Avon, Anthony (Barb) of Caledonia; his mother-in-law Fran Morrow of Avon; aunts, uncles, cousins; several nieces and nephews; his devoted dogs, Arnie, Muffy and Sammy. Services and interment were held in California.

Sgt. Chester L. “Bo” Horcsog

Sgt. Chester L. “Bo” Horcsog, 31, of Mumford, died suddenly Jan. 7, 2001, at the National Guard Armory in Geneseo. He was born Jan. 16, 1969, in Rochester, the son of Chester and Sharon (Hough) Lyons. He was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard and was employed as a warehouseman for Wegman's Food Stores in Chili. Chester fought in Desert Storm. He is survived by his wife Kelly A. Horcsog; daughter Destiny Horcsog; stepson Cody Harcleroad; his father Chester Lyons of Delavan, N.Y.; two brothers, Matthew Horcsog of Mt. Morris and Howard Rader of Corning; two sisters, Faith Norton of Mt. Morris and Tammy Payne of Springwater; his aunt Elizabeth Kruchten of Scottsburg; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Janis Lewis of York; nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his mother Sharon Rader. Friends called Wednesday at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home Inc. in Avon where his Funeral Service will be held Thursday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Alfreda Morse officiating. Interment, Avon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the VA Medical Center, Activities Fund, Canandaigua NY 14424.

Rose M. LaPoma

Rose M. LaPoma, 90, of Avon, died Jan. 1, 2001, at Highland Hospital in Rochester. She was born in Avon Aug. 25, 1910, the daughter of Carmelo and Petrina (Margrana) Sceusa. Rose was a life long resident of Avon, a member of St. Agnes Church and the former Rosary Society. She was predeceased by her husband Frank J. LaPoma in 1995. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Dixie LaPoma of Avon; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Sal Rizzo of Avon, Patricia and Matt Dillon of Florida and Rosemarie and Lloyd Hynes of Avon; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Sam Sceusa of Mt. Morris; three sisters, Josephine Sceusa and Phyllis Scorsone, both of Geneseo and Angie Cosgriff of Tully, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews. Friends called Thursday at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home Inc. in Avon. Her Funeral Mass was held Friday at St. Agnes Church in Avon with the Rev.. William Gordinier officiating. Interment, St. Agnes Cemetery, Avon. Memorials may be made to St. Agnes Church, Avon Ambulance Fund or a charity of your choice.

Ellen N. Oldenburg

Ellen N. Oldenburg, 74, of Big Tree St., Livonia, died Jan. 7, 2001, at the Teresa House in Geneseo. She was born the daughter of Walter and Amelia Klein Nickerson on Aug. 13, 1926, in Livonia. She is survived by her husband Donald Sr. of Livonia; her children, Judy (Ivan) Fockler of Livonia, Donald (Frankie) Oldenburg Jr. of Cohocton; grandchildren, Peter Wise, Jill and Jennifer Gilmore; brother, Edwin Nickerson of Livonia Center; sister Eleanor Duffy; several nieces and nephews. Thaddeus A. Rowley

Thaddeus A. Rowley, 93, of Lima, formerly of Avon, died Jan. 1, 2001 at the Avon Nursing Home. He was born March 7, 1907, in Richmond, N.Y. the son of Arthur and Edna (Foley) Rowley. Thad worked for his brother-in-law, Fred Potter as a farmer and later for the Vernon Greer Farm. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. No prior calling. A graveside service will be held in the Spring (Wednesday, May 23, 2001) at Union Cemetery in Livonia. Memorials may be made to the Avon Ambulance Fund, 60 Temple St., Avon NY 14414. Clarence G. Woodley

Clarence G. Woodley, 92, of Honeoye, died Jan. 8, 2001, at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua. He was born the son of William and Augusta G. Gendenry Woodley on March 18, 1908 in Rochester. He was a retiree of Farrell Brothers in Rochester. Clarence belonged to the Eagle Lodge #619 F.A.M. in Honeoye where he served as Master in 1970 and also served as secretary and the Eastern Star #350 where he served as Patron many times. He also was master and dual member of Penfield Union Lodge #1542 F.A.M. of Penfield in 1976 which is now called Wakan Hubbard Lodge #154. He served as District Lecturer of Ontario, Seneca and Yates District in 1976. He was also a member of the Damascus Temple (Rochester) where he was on the Director Staff and a member of the Patrol Division, also the Valley of Rochester Scottish Rite. He was a longtime member of the Richmond Fire Department and Ambulance crew where in 1988 he received the firefighter award of the year. In his younger days Clarence owned and piloted his own Piper Cub aircraft in the years 1947-1954. His greatest hobby was bee keeping where he shared many jars of honey with his friends and family. He was predeceased by his wife Minnie in 1993. He is survived by his son Paul C. (Joy) Woodley of Webster and daughter Diane Turney of Florida; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sister Betty Watson of Victor. No prior calling. Friends may attend a memorial service Friday at 11 a.m. at the Honeoye United Church of Christ with the Rev. Brian Krause officiating. Burial, Lakeview Cemetery, Honeoye.
